The advent of new ringtone providing sites drove the interest levels of the discerning buyer to even higher levels. This resulted in more incomes generated for the businesses.  Seeing the trend, many top end music track companies like MTV also joined action by offering their latest tracks as phone melodies, directly to the customers through telecom service providers.  Here, not only the music track industry, but players in telecom industry are also the beneficiaries. 
A practice seen these days is that melodies based on the latest tracks are put out in the market for sale even before the track itself sees the limelight.  This is a glaring testimony to the importance attached to ringtones these days in driving up sales volumes and thereby incomes too. 
Cell phone manufacturers are also not sitting idle.  After watching from the sidelines for some time, they have joined action by offering many latest caller tones already recorded into the hand set at the time of manufacture itself. 
It has been estimated that the incomes and profit generated by the ringtone industry is at par with that of the entire hand set industry.  In addition, the business in ringtone customizing software has also seen a giant leap in terms of volumes.  The future picture seems to be rosy for not only the ringtone sellers, but for the caller tone software industry, music track industry, the hand set industry, the telecom industry and, at the top of the line, the customer himself.
